The Plant Disease Clinic is a community service provided by the Graduate Students, Professors, and Extension Specialists from UC Davis Department of Plant Pathology, Entomology, and Nematology. Disease diagnosis is a critical initial step for successful disease management. Several different diseases and/or plant health problems can cause similar symptoms; therefore, it is important to obtain an accurate diagnosis to choose the best disease-control measures and to know what is affecting your crops or plants. Accurate and timely plant disease diagnosis starts with proper sample collection and submission.
UC Davis PDC clients includes home gardeners, Extensions staff, Master Gardener, state and local government, agricultural and horticultural producers (e.g. farmer and nursery owners), and agricultural and horticultural professionals (e.g. Agricultural Pest Control Adviser and arborists). Our samples come from both in state and out of state.
